The winner of the 2025 TMS Editor’s Choice Award is Capt. Yousef Al Sager, President of LMSL and Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Fleet Operations at Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC). In his current position he leads and oversees the company’s fleet operations, including engineering and new building projects, personnel, and marine agency activities, among others. Capt. Yousef Al Sager has over 29 years of experience in the maritime industry, including time as a Master on a VLCC and VLGC. For the last 18 years, he has served at KOTC Head Office in various capacities, including supervising KOTC’s fleet newbuilding program in South Korea and China, which helped to expand KOTC’s Marine Fleet, while introducing modern environment-friendly technologies on board of all KOTC vessels. Capt. Yousef Al Sager is KOTC representative on several major international maritime organisations, including SIGTTO, INTERTANKO and BIMCO. In addition, he is a Board Member of the International Foundation for Aids to Navigation (IFAN) and sits on Kuwait Oil Company’s Board as a member.
